Shankhadip Chakraborty: Hindustani Vocal Recital

A Youth Day Concert

Shankhadip Chakraborty is a 17 year-old junior at South Brunswick High School in South Brunswick Township, NJ. He has been learning from his Guru Smt. Mitali Bhawmik for the past seven and a half years. He has won several accolades in the realm of Hindustani classical vocal music, including the Chhandayan Jyotsna Award for Student, or shishya, of Indian music in 2014, and has performed in venues including the North American Bengali Conference in New York in 2016 for Chhandayan, Kallol organization in New Jersey, and the Somerset Bengali Association in the past. Apart from music, he enjoys playing soccer and cricket, watching sports, and is a part of the Model United Nations club in his school.

About our Youth Day Concerts:

Our Drive East Youth Day concerts are intended to give talented upcoming artists under the age of 18 the chance to perform and meet artists from around the globe, as well as offer youth in the audience the chance to be inspired by their peers.
