Janani Sundararajan was introduced to Carnatic music at the age of 5 by her grandmother Smt. R. Sundaravalli. She started receiving formal training in Carnatic music from the age of 8 and has had the privilege of learning from esteemed gurus Sangita Kala Acharya Smt. Seetha Narayanan, Sangita Kala Acharya Smt. Radha Namboodiri, and Smt. Banumathy Raghuram. She started giving solo vocal concerts at the age of 12 and has performed in several locations in India, Singapore and USA. She has also been part of Indian and Western choirs in Singapore and has performed in front of several public audiences. She is an ardent Rasika of Indian classical art forms and is passionate about spreading them around the world.
