What is Navatman's Junior Troupe?
Comprised of our most dedicated students, this is the school's youngest performing students who study 3 subjects: carnatic music, bharatanatyam, and kathak. One of the rarest combinations in the world to find, these students embody what it means to be an artist: dedicating themselves to the craft and performing through the tri state area on a regular basis.

What are the benefits of Junior Troupe? The junior troupe is built on the idea that a deep dedication to dance and music also build emotionally healthy, independent and entrepreneurial souls who will go on to make larger impacts in the world around them. The arts brings flexibility, discipline, dedication, quick thinking, solution oriented folks. The dedication to the craft creates students well suited for the real world from when they walk outside the doors of Navatman.

What is required to be on Junior Troupe?1. Students at Navatman commit to learning all 3 styles.
2. They audition for the Junior Troupe 3. If accepted, they become "Junior Troupe in training". This is where the tough part begins, as they will have to learn to balance academic studies with intensive dance and music training. Everyone struggles with it, and it takes about a year to settle. 4. A check in is done during the year (or more) of training to see if it suits the student. At this time, a decision is made to continue Junior Troupe or let go of the program. |
