What do I get out of a 2 hour class in a Navatman Fundamentals/Exploratory/Pre Professional/Masterclass?
Before Class:
Where is my zoom link?
The zoom link is in the receipt attached to the confirmation email you received after your purchase. Please click into the attachment to see the zoom link. If you can’t find your confirmation email, please check your spam folder.
Can I get a refund if I forget to show up?
No. Unfortunately, the masterclasses often run extremely full with a waitlist and the artist is paid a percentage. If you don’t come for the workshop after having secured your spot, you will have, in essence, taken someone else’s spot and therefore we will not be able to provide you with a refund.
When am I eligible for a refund?
You can get a full refund up to 48 hours before the masterclass. After that, you will be able to get a 50% refund of the masterclass. No-shows will be fully charged.
Payment:
If the “Pay What You Can” slots say “All Reserved” it means that only Full Rate slots are available.
During Class:
Am I supposed to be seen?
Yes, singers need to have their head and torso in the frame. Dancers need to have their full body in the frame
Am I supposed to be heard?
No, you will stay on mute and the teacher will allow for questions and will ask you to unmute to hear you or allow a question. This is important as it interferes with other students being able to hear the instruction.
After Class:
Will I be able to record or receive a zoom recording of the online workshop?
No. It is against our teaching methodology to allow students to record video. Students are welcome to take notes and ask questions to clarify while attending the workshop but a zoom recording will not be shared.
Why don’t you record the workshop and share it?
We believe that recording a masterclass or a workshop defeats the purpose of learning. As per our school policy, we refrain from sharing videos as a way to mimic the benefits of the traditional guru shishya parampara system which encourages active engagement with the class, note-taking, etc. We hope to cultivate an environment of actively trying to engage, ask questions and learn as much as you can through these workshops. Note-taking is an important part of our learning process as well and helps concepts sink in better than relying on a video recording that you would look at much later.

- What is Full Rate vs Pay What You Can
- For each nuance class we provide a few scholarship slots for those who cannot afford to take the class but who would still like to. These are the “Pay what you can” registration tickets. We ask that if you are able to pay the full amount, please do, as it will allow those who have less access to take the class. 50% of what you pay goes to the artist.
- I donated what I could and received a receipt but I am not being let in to the class because I am not registered -- what does that mean?
- We have found that when the pay what you can slots are taken, people are going to the end of the registration process and removing their registration ticket in order to be able to pay what they could. This, in essence, does not reserve a slot for you as you are not registered with a registration ticket and have only donated. You need to have registered using a registration ticket in order to be let into the class.
If the “Pay What You Can” slots say “All Reserved” it means that only Full Rate slots are available.
