Currently, Navatman is accepting applications to perform and work with us as an artist for our 2020 Projects including Drive East and our new Black Box Baithak series, formally known as Studio Showings.
Please use the "Apply Now" button below to submit a google form to apply to perform, whether at Black Box Baithak, conduct a workshop/intensive, or to perform at Drive East. Who do we typically choose to perform at Navatman?
Navatman aims to provide programming two-four times a month, in mostly South Asian classical music and dance, but are open to performances in folk and other genres as well, as long as it connects at some level to South Asian arts.
How do I get selected for other Navatman events, specifically like Drive East?
We encourage artists interested in performing at Drive East to perform at our studio performances first. Many of our curated Drive East artists have started there.
However, all applications for any kind of Navatman involvement are asked within the Google Application Form. You can email us, too, but we most likely will direct you to the form.

How much money can I expect?
Navatman does almost all of its work on a percentage split of at the door sales: 50% to the artist for most Navatman Events. Average ticket prices for Studio performances are $20 online and $25 at the door, but can vary depending on what we believe an artist is capable of selling.
This can result from anywhere between $200 - $1000+ depending on how well you market your event with us and the pricing of the tickets. Of course, lower ticket prices equals more tickets sold but higher ticket prices result in more cash.

What are the other advantages of performing at Navatman?
South Asian arts in NYC is a small and growing field (see blog post above.) 50-75 seats is considered a great audience here for artists who are not at the absolute top of their field, including local artists, and new artists may get 30-40.
Navatman is a great foothold in NYC and many major dancers and musicians have gotten their start here, to be "discovered" and sent to bigger stages, including Drive East.
