Navatman Music Collective (NMC) is a one-of-a-kind choir that celebrates the depth and beauty of Carnatic (South Indian classical) music with a soul and energy that is their own. Their respect for the rich tradition is paired with a contemporary sensibility, openness to many genres, and an honest joy for the music they sing. Their sound is simultaneously nostalgic and boundary-breaking, aiming to engage the discerning and uninitiated alike. Based in New York City, NMC also enjoys collaborating with talented instrumentalists in the area who support and inspire them. They are directed by vocalist Roopa Mahadevan.
